Resolutions?
Every year I get bombarded with these stupid questions about my new year's resolutions! You know....these lists that people conjure up of things they would like to change about themselves.
Like:
"I want to lose weight" or "I am going to stop smoking"!
Whatever.
I went through this stupid process once back when I was young and stupid (we were all that way once!) I went through all of the different facets of my life and tried to determine what I needed to change. I actually decided through this that (a) it was entirely too depressing to catalog all of the different things that I wasn't happy with in my life and (b) writing down on a piece of paper that I wouldn't drink cokes everyday wasn't going to stop me from drinking cokes everyday.
...At least I learned something.
I did however realize that since I have Jesus Christ as the spiritual foundation in my life, that I can live with all of the faults and problems that are in my life. We are here for a short period of time, and we can choose to focus on all of the problems, or we can spend time smelling flowers and enjoying the great things in our lives like kids and chocolate (but not in that order)!
Poker is another one of those little items that I will continue to enjoy. And I guess that when it comes to poker I could understand creating a resolution list for the new year. So here goes nothing:
1. I would like to improve as much this year as I did last year.
2. I would like to continue being a good friend to many, and continue to have many good friends.
3. I would like to win the WSOP main event.
Sometimes you need to put something on your list that you probably can't achieve...I mean for crying out loud, do I really need any more good friends?
Good Luck and God Bless you and yours in this upcoming year!!!
